The Ultimate Fighter

The Season 20 opener introduces the 16 female fighters battling to become the UFC's first strawweight champ. After coaches Anthony Pettis and Gilbert Melendez pick teams for this first all-female season, the fighters move in and the opening bout is held.

Hard training takes its toll on Team Melendez, while the Team Pettis fighters grow frustrated with their coaching. Then, Joanne Calderwood faces Emily Kagan for a spot in the quarterfinals.

Bec Rawlings gets called in to Dana White's office and receives the news that her step-father passed away from Parkinson’s disease. Angela Magaña leads the rest of the team in a prayer for Rawlings.

Urijah Faber steps in as Team Pettis' temporary coach for the day due to Pettis having a prior engagement, making the ladies "crush" on him during wrestling practice.

When Gilbert Melendez calls a team meeting, his team turns on Heather Clark after she constantly complains about her injuries, and how she only wants to train with the coaches and not with them.

Aisling struggles get the attention of Dana White's attention. Tecia's return to the competition angers some fighters. Then, in the sixth fight of the tournament Team Pettis pits #5 ranked Aisling Daly against #12 ranked Angela Magana for a chance to advance to the quarterfinals.

Team Melendez's losing streak is creating some tension with the women coming together as a team and it creates a total divide. So, Angela Magaña and Bec Rawlings start talking behind Lisa Ellis' back because she and Heather Clark have been hanging out with Team Pettis, who Rawlings calls "The Foreigners" at the TUF house.

The "Scrapettes" call the first official team meeting to discuss how to kick the "Chumpettes" (Tecia Torres and Heather Clark) out of Team Melendez's room and move into "Chumpette" Lisa Ellis' room. They designate Emily Kagan as the messenger.

Controversy ignites again within Team Pettis because several fighters now want to train two sessions per day, not just one as preciously agreed upon. The next morning, Markos decides to attend the morning session, much to the chagrin of Carla Esparza. A confrontation takes place in the van on the way to the gym, but Markos refuses to leave. Once the van arrives at the “TUF” gym, Esparza and Herrig bring the situation to coach Pettis’ attention. While he would like to stick to the original agreement of split training sessions, he says MMA is an individual, not team sport, and he can’t make any decisions on Markos’ behalf.

Aisling Daly gets a surprise visit from Conor McGregor. The fighters visit Harley Davidson boot camp. Then, in the second quarterfinal, #5 ranked Aisling Daly takes on #4 ranked Jessica Penne with the winner advancing to the semi-final.

Jessica Penne and Carla Esparza are up next in the semifinal followed by Randa Markos and Rose Namajunas.
